The pandemic gave us clarity about what matters most: health, family, education and human connections — the things we champion here at the Y.
Our Y is more vital now than ever.
More Milwaukee Y members have stood behind our mission during the pandemic than at any other Y in the country, which has made it possible for us to:
KIDS IN EMERGENCY CHILDCARE programs when other programs had to shutter amidst COVID-19. The YMCA of Metropolitan Milwaukee worked directly with the CDC to establish and pilot the successful safety standards that were adopted statewide.
STUDENTS AT SAFE SCHOOL SITES to ease the burden on families who were trying to manage virtual learning from home — on top of all their other pandemic stresses.

We met our members where you were: online, outdoors and at more sites throughout the city. We brought more personal, boutique fitness to everyone, and kept Milwaukee STRONG with a 6-week, city-wide wellness challenge.
THAT'S JUST THE BEGINNING. In 2021, we’re completely reimagining health (and health access) in Milwaukee.
Sometimes care is as simple as a call. We made hundreds of them to connect with seniors while they were isolated during the lockdowns. And we made sure they didn't fall behind on their health, adding new senior-focused nutrition and strengthening fitness programs.

Most of all, we listened. When more people were going hungry, we fed thousands of local families. We responded when the community cried out for justice, and are on a journey to become an anti-racist, multicultural organization that values diversity in all forms. We’ve continued to respond with the community to speak out against racism, hate and systemic injustice.
WE ARE HERE when our neighbors needs us — but we need your help to keep it up.
Our community is still calling out for relief from this crisis. Help us reach them:
